“Well, it [the Steele Dossier] was not a very well-kept secret among press circles for several months before it came out. And it was in late summer of 2016 when there were some individuals from the various U.S. news outlets who asked me about my familiarity with it. And I had heard just snippets about it. I did not know what was in there. I did not see it [until] later in that year. I think it was in December. But I was unaware of the providence of it as well as what was in it. And it did not play any role whatsoever in the intelligence community assessments that was done that was presented to then President Obama and then President-elect Trump.”
2/28/2020: Notice that Brennan is specific in declaring that the dossier didn’t play a role in the “intelligence community assessments [the document] that was done that was presented to then President Obama and then President-elect Trump.”
My opinion: 2/28/2020:: If Brennan did see it earlier, then I believe Brennan will one day state that he wasn’t lying in this interview / similar statements elsewhere where he said he “didn’t know what was in there”. because he was thinking about the “completed” dossier, which, obviously wasn’t completed until December of 2016. In a sense, that’s all the “dossier” was—“snippets”—until all entries were compiled.

Stefan Halper is obviously a bigger scandal than the media want to admit

The swiftness with which the media have brushed aside Stefan Halper’s role in the Russia investigation should be a sign that he’s certainly more important than they’re admitting.
Halper was identified by the Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross last weekend as the professor who worked in some still-unknown capacity to inform the FBI on the Trump campaign in 2016 as part of the agency’s probe of Russia’s election meddling.

RealClearInvestigations publishes bombshell report on Joseph Mifsud who went into hiding
In an official report, Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence asserted that “in their approach to Papadopoulos, the Russians used common tradecraft and employed a cut-out,” a “Kremlin-linked…Maltese professor named Joseph Mifsud.”
No one in the American intelligence community has publicly challenged this description.
But there is one major problem with this story: No evidence has been presented to support the claim. Although Mifsud has traveled many times to Russia and has contacts with Russian academics, his closest public ties are to Western governments, politicians, and institutions, including the CIA, FBI and British intelligence services. One of Mifsud’s jobs has been to train diplomats, police officers, and intelligence officers at schools in London and Rome, where he lived and worked over the last dozen years.

Update 3/16/2020: Per Lee Smith’s book “The Plot Against the President” Rosenstein started to ‘wake up’ October 2017, per Kash Patel’s account.
NY Times reveals that Rod Rosenstein had suggested the possibility to McCabe of someone wearing a wire to record Trump early in the days of his administration shortly after the firing of Comey.
In STRZOK V. BARR it became known that Rod Rosenstein himself ordered the release of the Strzok/Page texts published 12/12/2017.
Rosenstein was painted in the press at this point as an Anti-Trump operative who tried to sabotage the President. Indeed, Rosenstein acted like his job was in the line when this article exposed his statement.
At what point Did Rosenstein flip? When did he actually come begging to Trump to keep his job?
Or…. did he?
Was Rosenstein in Trump’s corner the whole time? Was Rosenstein actually running a sting operation on McCabe when he ‘jokingly’ suggested someone might want to wear a wire around the President? To see if McCabe would bite?
Time will tell.
Thanks to insights from @drawandstrike Brian Cates, and others, who suggested, once STRZOK V. BARR was filed, that Rosenstein actually appointed John Durham to “investigate the investigators” as soon as Durham was on the job, December 2017.
Indeed. Look at the late 2017 timeline after the last FISA renewal expired, September, 2017.
How could, with all that was known at that point, there have NOT been a criminal investigation? If Rosenstein was operating against Trump then it would make sense. But now we know different.

Devin Nunes would later recall the significance of the interview. George, the first to be arrested, was also the first to speak out, and is the only person to witness first hand the most consequential moments of a three year investigation in which the President of the United States had been accused of being a treasonous Agent of Russia: “Putin’s Puppet”.
